Intellij 2017.3 lacks the Tomcat plugin

I comprehended that the error was related to the artifacts of my Spring project within IntelliJ. To resolve the issue, I added certain parts to my pom.xml file and allowed Maven to auto-import necessary components. Afterwards, I created a new artifact within a new TomCat server, which ultimately eliminated the problem. In response to the question, I implemented the suggested solution found in [1] for fixing the issue with deploying the artifact in Tomcat 8.5.13 and 9.0.0.M19 via IntelliJ IDEA.

Following the implementation of the suggested solution mentioned in [1]:
IntelliJ IDEA
, which pertains to the error that occurs during
artifact deployment
for Tomcat 8.5.13 and 9.0.0.M19, further information can be found at
server log
. However, it is worth noting that the Run/Configurations configuration for Tomcat local/remote is not present on the list anymore. Despite this, it remains accessible and activated through the Settings – Plugins.

To restore the functionality of IntelliJ IDEA, you can reinstall the IDE instead of applying the fix for
Intellij IDEA
. Alternatively, you can opt for the Tomcat version that has already resolved this bug.
